The design, construction and quality control have been approved under Germanisher Lloyd certification rules, and the vehicle achieved Germanisher Lloyd, GL A5 classification.
Complete 6 controllable degrees of freedom.
The configuration of the 8 thrusters provide a vectorial propulsion system on 5 axis: 3 translation (XYZ), 1 yaw, 1 roll. Trimming (pitch) is provided by internal buoyancy tanks. Z axis is redundant (thruster and ballast). Total Thruster electrical power is 16 kW distributed as follows: 4 x 2 kW forth / backwards (X axis), total of 164 kg on stern 2 x 2 kW horizontal, one bow, one stern, total of 82 kg (Y axis + yaw) 2 x 2 kW vertical, 1 port, 1 starboard, total of 82 kg (Z axis + roll).
Proportional speed control between -100 % and 100 %, in all thrusters Buoyancy tanks, provide buoyancy control (Z axis) and trimming (pitch), with +/- 50 kg of manoeuvring range. Piloting is done by a PLC- assisted console: 1 joystick, 3 axis (advance, lateral translation and yaw), plus 12 manoeuvring control buttons (buoyancy, pitch, up / down) High capacity and high power batteries: 30 kW continuous, 40 kWh (10 hours full autonomy at normal load capacity). Depth control is redundant, as it is measured simultaneously by different sensors: two analogue pressure sensors, one digital pressure sensor Keller PA-33X / 200 bar / 80794, and the pressure transducer in the CTD probe.
ICTINEU 3 is equipped with a sensors platform, easy to plug and play.

The front acrylic window provides extraordinary transparency and without deformation or refraction of images. This allows you to shoot or photograph with professional cameras from within the pressure helmet, with total control of the team by the professional, and without dependence on the external housings. Two vertical bars in the bow have the double function of protecting the acrylic dome and at the same time to provide a rail system where lights are anchored.
Passengers configuration and Ergonomics
The position of passengers an pilot is configurable depending on mission, and can be even exchanged during the dive. This is possible because piloting is done by a mobile assisted control board, and due to the wide field of view that allows pilot full control from any position. Passengers are always sitting comfortably, as ergonomics plays an important role in the vehicle.
